Emergency Lighting
Emergency Lighting is installed to lead occupants to the nearest fire exit in the event of an outage. Emergency lighting not only ensures a safe exit, it also allows emergency services to make their way in safely if necessary. Following an outing, once the power has been restored, the lights should recharge and be ready for use again.
If you are responsible for commercial premises which have emergency lighting installed, then you need to make sure that either you designate a competent fire person, or a fire safety company to undertake the regular emergency lighting tests as required by law.
The British Standards minimum permitted duration of an emergency escape lighting system is 1 hour and so your annual test will check that all your lights turn on and stay on for at least 60 minutes and for as long as 3 hours, depending on the type of batteries in them.
Our engineers are fully qualified to install, maintain and repair emergency lighting systems of any size, if this is something you require please get in touch and we will be happy to provide a quote.
